About Portland Home Services
Lee Barbara
Those who know me well know I’m passionate about two things: playing music and building, repairing, and beautifying living spaces. I started Portland Home Services after spending decades learning carpentry and home repair as a hobby, all while working full-time as a music teacher and professional guitarist. Through completing two full basement remodels in my own Portland homes, I discovered how much I love transforming underused areas into beautiful, functional spaces that families can enjoy for generations. That passion ultimately inspired me to turn this craft into a business.
As a homeowner, I’ve often noticed how hard it can be to find reliable, trustworthy, and communicative tradespeople. From day one, I knew those values—clear communication, dependability, and integrity—would define Portland Home Services. My years as a classroom teacher taught me the importance of planning, scheduling, and communication, as well as how rewarding it is to serve my community. Those lessons guide every project I take on, and every client I serve.
In addition to running PHS, I still perform and teach a small group of guitar students from my home studio. When I’m not working with clients or making music, I love spending time exploring with my wife and our two young sons.
